Presentation/Mini-bio:
He works with Cultural Projects, Cultural Policies Advisor, Artistic Direction, Curatorship and Cultural Production, with 30 years of experience. Afonso Oliveira is the creator of the Canavial Teaching Method of Cultural Production which became a book in 2009. He was awarded with the Creative Economy Award in 2012 by the Ministry of Culture and Minc’s Patativa do Assaré Award in 2011, also Tuxuauá Award by MinC in 2010. He is the former Secretay of Culture of Olinda, Cultural Merit Order Chavalier and Coordinator of Canavial Festival. He has made many national and international projects of apreciation of the popular culture of Pernambuco, with highlight to the European Tours with Maracatus and the appearance at the Lincoln Center Festival in New York. He has already managed over 120 cultural projects. He also has graduated through the Canavial Method over 180 cultural production students. He has taken part in many cultural business fais in Paris, Germany, El Salvador, the Netherlands, Spain and in the United States of America.
